Commander Andrew “Mr. Mcdribblets” Ginnetti

The son of two U.S. Navy parents, CDR Ginnetti moved often growing up, finally settling in the Pacific Northwest. He attended the University of Idaho and joined the school’s Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps program. In 2009, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in History and commissioned as an Ensign. He reported to NAS Pensacola, FL, to begin flight training in November 2009 and earned his Naval Aviator “Wings of Gold” from VT-21 at NAS Kingsville, Texas in November 2012.

CDR Ginnetti began his first operational tour in April 2014 with the U.S. Navy’s only Forward Deployed Naval Forces’ EA-18G squadron, the Shadowhawks of VAQ-141 attached to Carrier Airwing FIVE (CVW-5). As a Shadowhawk, he made three cruises aboard the USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73) and USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76) serving as the Mess Officer, NATOPS Officer, Training and Readiness Officer, and Aircraft Division Officer. At the conclusion of this tour, CDR Ginnetti was selected to attend the EA-18G Growler Tactics Instructor course at Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center (NAWDC), onboard NAS Fallon, NV, with follow-on orders to the Electronic Attack Weapons School onboard NAS Whidbey Island, WA.

While at EAWS, CDR Ginnetti was the Maritime Employment and EA-18G Combat Systems Instructor, and the Advanced Programs Officer responsible for representing the EA-18G at the Virtual Warfare Center and coordinating the annual Naval Aviation Requirements working Group. In September 2019, CDR Ginnetti reported to the “World Famous” Wizards of VAQ-133 “Push it Up,” attached to Carrier Air Wing NINE (CVW-9) as the Squadron Training Officer. Due to operational department head timing CDR Ginnetti only served as the Wizard’s Training Officer for seven months and reported to the VAQ-131 Lancers “Pylum” in April 2020. During his tenure, he served as the Tactics, Admin, Maintenance, and Operations Department Head deploying twice as Expeditionary VAQ to INDOPACOM under the operational control of Commander, Task Force SEVEN ZERO (CTF-70).

Following his Department Head tour, CDR Ginnetti reported to HAVOC, the EA-18G Weapons School onboard NAWDC at NAS Fallon, Nevada as the HAVOC Assistant Department Head (ADH). As the ADH he developed Tactics Techniques and Procedures, and supporting Fleet Training Requirements.

CDR Ginnetti has deployed 5 times to INDOPACOM, accumulated over 2,000 flight hours, and has 268 carrier arrested landings. His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (1 award), Navy Commendation Medal (2 awards), the Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2 awards), and various service awards and ribbons.
