Command Master Chief Joshua Watson hails from Indianapolis, Indiana. He began his naval career in March of 2006 at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, IL followed by Aviation Electrician’s Mate A-School and F/A-18 C-School in Lemoore, CA.
His sea duty assignments include Strike Fighter Squadron ONE ZERO TWO (VFA-102) at Naval Air Facility Atsugi, Japan, Strike Fighter Squadron ELEVEN (VFA-11) at Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia Beach, VA, and Strike Fighter Squadron ONE NIVE FIVE (VFA-195) at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan.
He has completed numerous forward-deployed and combat-operational deployments on board USS KITTY HAWK (CV-63), USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73), USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN 71), USS HARRY S TRUMAN (CVN 75), and USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76).
His shore duty assignments include Navy Recruiting District Michigan as Recruiter and Recruiter-in-Charge of Navy Recruiting Stations Indianapolis East and Indianapolis West, Navy Manpower Analysis Center in Millington, TN as Manpower Analyst and Training Officer, and Military Entrance Processing Station Milwaukee, WI as Command Senior Enlisted Leader.
He is currently serving as the Command Master Chief of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron SEVEN SEVEN (HSM-77).
Command Master Chief Watson’s personal decorations include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (seven awards), Navy Recruiting Gold Wreath (13 awards), and the Master Chief Bakarian Memorial Award, as well as various unit and campaign awards.
He is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy and the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course.
