Command Master Chief Daphness is a native of Queens, New York. He enlisted on September 10, 2001, and attended Recruit Training Command (RTC), Great Lakes, IL before reporting on board the USS Enterprise CVN 65.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management from American Military University, PSI Certified, Associate Business Coordinator. He is a graduate of the Navy War College's Senior Enlisted Academy Class 203 (Green), Newport, RI.

Operational assignments include: Centcom Deployment, Iron Magic, Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom deployment, IA SF BRAVO Honduras, Operation Unified Response, Operation New Dawn, Cobra Gold, Taliman Sabrem, Dawn Blitz, Steel Knight, Iron Fist, MEU- EX, Carax, Sustex, and Carat Indonesia.
He previous served as a Logistic Specialist Chief Petty officer, Supply DLCPO-USS RUSHMORE, SEL NMRTC, S8 LCPO-USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT, Command Senior Chief-USS FORT WORTH. He is currently serving as the Command Master Chief of HELICOPTER SEA COMBAT SQUADRON FOURTEEN.
Command Master Chief Daphness is designated as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist. His personal awards include Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (Forth award), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (Five awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer medal, (Two awards), Humanitarian Service medal as well as numerous unit, campaign, and service awards.
