Command Master Chief Christopher Arredondo

Master Chief Arredondo, a native of California, enlisted in the United States Navy in July 2002. Upon completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, he reported to the Hospital Corpsman A-School, Great Lakes, Illinois.
Upon graduation, he reported onboard USS O’BANNON (DD-987) homeported in Mayport, Florida; completed two deployments and was selected for meritorious advancement to Petty Officer Second Class before decommissioning. Additional fleet assignments include 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, California, and 3rd Marine Division Detachment Hawaii, Marine Corps Base Hawaii. He served as Assistant Leading Petty Officer for 1st Battalion, 1st Marines when deployed to Fallujah, Iraq in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM. As the Navy Senior Enlisted Advisor for 3d Battalion, 3d Marines he deployed to both Gamshir and Nawa Districts Afghanistan in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM and while on duty as the Combat Operations Center Watch Officer, collectively coordinated the initiation of OPERATION VALIANT RESCUE managing theatre assets in the search and recovery of a missing Marine and Afghan National Police Officer from his unit.
Master Chief Arredondo served as the Command Master Chief for the U.S. Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery and 26 detachments that included the White House Medical Unit in Washington, D.C. and Health Affairs AttachĂ© Office, U.S. Embassy Hanoi, Vietnam. His shore tours include Commander, Naval Special Warfare Command, and two tours at Commander, Navy Personnel Command serving in Hospital Corps Assignments Branch and returned to serve as the Enlisted Placement Branch DLCPO, Senior Enlisted Leader for the Enlisted Distribution Division and as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the Distribution Management Division. Master Chief Arredondo most recently served as a Navy Leader Development Master Facilitator at the Naval Leadership and Ethics Command San Diego prior to his current assignment as the Command Master Chief for Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 35 “Magicians”.
Master Chief Arredondo graduated with distinction from the University of the Incarnate Word, obtaining a Master of Science in Organizational Development and Leadership, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences, is a graduate of the Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Academy Class 189, Air Force Senior Noncommissioned Officer Academy Class 18-B and Command Master Chief Class 17040. His decorations include the Purple Heart Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards), Combat Action Ribbon (2 awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
