He graduated from Far Rockaway High school in Queens, NY in 1999. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 2000 and graduated from Recruit Training in Great Lakes, Illinois, he went to Seamen Apprentice School in Great Lakes. At Sea, Mingo has served aboard USS Paul Hamilton (DDG-60) in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii completing two tours to the Arabian Gulf. At Explosive Ordnance (EOD) Unit Mobile Unit Three, as work center supervisor he supported deploying units during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Aboard USS Higgins (DDG-76) in San Diego, CA completing two tours to Arabian Gulf, as leading petty officer (LPO) for Combat Missiles (CM) division and as a Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (VBSS) team member, where he promoted to Chief Petty Officer. He served onboard USS Coronado (LCS-4) in San Diego, CA and managed many roles to include Department Leading Chief Petty Officer (DLCPO) for Combat Systems, Command Training Officer, and Ship’s Maintenance and Material Manager (3M). Ashore, Mingo has served with Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Training Unit One in China Lake, CA, as armor and training department LPO. He served at NAVSEA Port Hueneme, CA, in Air Dominance department as the In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) for the MK41 Vertical Launching System. After his surgery, he reported to Naval Base Coronado in a Limit Duty (LIMDU) status and assumed an Executive Staff position in ADMIN department. He transferred to Afloat Training Group in San Diego and joined Combat System department in certifying CRUDES ships during their Basis phase. In February 2024 he was selected to the Command Senior/Master Chief program. In June of 2024, CMDCM Mingo reported to Pacific Missile Range Facility, Barking Sands HI to serve as the Senior Enlisted Leader. He is currently serving as Command Master Chief at VAQ-139 Master Chief Mingo earned a Bachelor of Science in Technical Management, and a Master of Science in Project Management from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. Master Chief Mingo has earned the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6 awards), Good Conduct Medal and various campaign and unit awards.
