ATCS(AW/SW) Ryan J Gogan, assumed his current duties as Command Senior Enlisted Leader, Strike Fighter Squadron ONE FOUR SEVEN (VFA-147), Iwakuni, Japan in January, 2025.
 
Gogan is a native of Woodbridge, Virginia, and enlisted in the U.S. Navy through the Military Entrance Processing Station, Maryland in April 2006.  He attended basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois, and upon completion of his training from the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training San Diego, CA, he reported to Strike Fighter Squadron ONE FOUR SEVEN (VFA-147) in Lemoore, California as a Airmen. 
 
Subsequently, he was designated as an Aviation Electronics Technician and rose through the ranks while serving at the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training in Lemoore, California, before transferring to Strike Fighter Squadron ONE ONE in Oceana, Virginia.  He was advanced to the rank of Chief Petty Officer in 2016.  His assignments also include Fleet Readiness Center detachment Norfolk, Virginia.  He advanced to the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer in 2019. 
 
Gogan reported to Strike Fighter Squadron ONE FOUR SEVEN, Naval Air Station Lemoore, California in October, 2021 and completed the first operational deployment of the F-35C and in November 2024 successfully perform a homeport change to Iwakuni, Japan, being the first operational F-35C squadron in the Forward Deployed Area of Responsibility.    
 
His awards and decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards) as well as numerous unit and campaign awards.  He is a Graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy, Class 232.
