Commander Cremean is a native of Sandusky, Ohio. He is a 2008 graduate of the United States Naval Academy where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering. He earned his Wings of Gold in October 2010 and completed his initial fleet training at VAW-120 in Norfolk, Virginia.

In April 2011, Commander Cremean reported to the “Bluetails” of VAW-121 in Norfolk, Virginia where he deployed twice with Carrier Air Wing SEVEN (CVW-7) aboard USS DWIGHT D EISENHOWER (CVN 69) to the CENTCOM AOR in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.

In May 2014, Commander Cremean completed the Hawkeye Weapons and Tactics Instructor (HEWTI) course at the Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center (NAWDC) in Fallon, Nevada. He remained on staff where he served as Air Wing Fallon Instructor, HEWTI Curriculum Manager, Training Officer, and Maritime Employment Subject Matter Expert.

Following instructor duty, Commander Cremean returned sea in February 2018 with VAW-121 aboard the USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72) as the Training Officer. While there, he completed work ups with CVW-7 and deployed again to the CENTCOM AOR in support of Operation FREEDOM’S SENTINEL.

In September 2019, Commander Cremean reported to MCAS Iwakuni, Japan as a department head with the “Tigertails” of VAW-125, serving as Administrative Officer, Safety Officer, and Maintenance Officer. During this time, he was designated an Air Wing Mission Commander and completed two deployments to the INDOPACOM AOR and one deployment to the CENTCOM AOR in support of Operation FREEDOM’S SENTINEL.

In January 2022, Commander Cremean reported to the Joint Staff, Directorate for Strategy, Plans and Policy (J5), Deputy Directorate Joint Strategic Planning (JSP), Joint Operational War Plans Division (JOWPD) in Washington D.C. where he served as INDOPACOM Planner and lead Action Officer/Subject Matter Expert for the SecDef/Chairman and NSC/Interagency China Crisis Management Seminars before being selected as Executive Assistant to the Deputy Director, Joint Strategic Planning.

Commander Cremean has accumulated over 1,900 flight hours. He has been published five times in the classified Hawkeye Vector, collaborated on multiple TACMEMOs, and contributed to numerous NWP, NTTP, AFTTP, and MTTP revisions. His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), the Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), E-2C Hawkeye Shore NFO of the Year, and various other unit, service, and campaign awards
