Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

1-2 NOVEMBER 2021

Coronado, CA

Welcome to the Naval Aviation Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Summit!!

November 1-2, 2021

Where:
Coronado Bay Marriott, located in Coronado, CA
San Diego, CA

This symposium will be the first ever-Naval Aviation Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Summit (CNAF DEI Summit), presenting “Empowering Future Naval Leaders with a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Mindset.”

The CNAF DEI Summit will educate and empower our Naval Aviators and Leaders to carry cultural change to the future of Naval Aviation.  This Summit will provide professional development opportunities to our minority Naval Aviators through educational seminars, leadership discussions, and mentoring and networking opportunities, as well as informing leadership as to the challenges faced by our minority aviators.  Breakout sessions will take a deep dive into incorporating DEI into our organization to solve complex problems, female aviator specific issues and progress as a premier fighting force.

The Naval Aviation Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Summit has been established in direct response to the Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Mike Gilday’s call to ‘to identify and remove racial barriers, improve inclusion efforts, create new opportunities for professional development, and eliminate obstacles” to Naval service members.  This Summit is designed considering the historical value, demonstrated culture change, and increase in female aviator retention as a result of the CNAF’s Female Aviator Career Training Symposium (FACTS) for the past 7 years. The Summit will expand on the professional development, leadership and mentorship structure of FACTS and provide an avenue for Naval Aviation to address two of Task Force One’s Lines of Effort (LOEs), “Talent Management and Retention, and “Professional Development” for all minority aviators. Fostering a culture of diversity, equity and inclusivity is mission essential to improve readiness across the force, while unleashing the full potential, talents, and skills of all aviators.
