He received his commission in the U.S. Navy through Officer Candidate School at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida in July 2007. He earned his Naval Flight Officer Wings in July 2009 and reported to Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 129 aboard NAS Whidbey Island for initial fleet training as an EA-18G Electronic Warfare Officer. CDR Chamberlin began his operational flying in August 2010 with VAQ 138 deploying in 2011 to Al Asad Air Base, Iraq in support of Operation NEW DAWN and in 2013 to Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar and Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. In February 2014, he reported to the Airborne Electronic Attack Weapons School aboard Naval Air Station Fallon and was designated a Growler Tactics Instructor. CDR Chamberlin reported to the Electronic Attack Weapons School in June 2014, serving as the Growler Weapons and Tactics Program Coordinator and the Electronic Warfare Advanced Readiness Program Director. During his tenure, he provided tactical instruction and direct support to all fifteen EA-18G Growler squadrons. Following his weapons school assignment, CDR Chamberlin served as the Training Officer for VAQ-141, at Naval Air Station Atsugi and Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan. He deployed four times in support of strategic objectives in the U.S. Indo-Pacific area of responsibility aboard the USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76). In May 2019, he reported to VAQ-131, where he served as the head of the Administrative, Maintenance, and Operations departments. He assisted in the squadron transition from a carrier-based unit to an expeditionary squadron, deploying to Misawa Air Base, Japan and was selected by his peers as the recipient of the Navy and Marine Association Leadership Award for 2020. In November 2021, CDR Chamberlin reported to the Joint Staff, J-6 serving as an action officer. While on the Joint Staff, he directly supported the Joint Requirements Oversight Council for tactical communications and data links. He selected for squadron command in March 2023 and is scheduled to report to VAQ-133 as Executive Officer in July 2024. CDR Chamberlin has amassed more than 2,000 flight hours, including 126 combat sorties. He is entitled to wear the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal (three Strike/Flight awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various service and campaign awards.
