He enlisted in the United States Navy as an Aviation Machinists Mate and Rescue Swimmer in July 2001. He is a 2008 graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD with a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering. CDR Corry completed operational flying tours with the “Providers” of HC-5, “Tridents” of HSC-9, and “Chargers” of HSC-26. During these tours he completed multiple deployments in the 5th, 6th, and 7th Fleet areas of responsibility in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operations Enduring Freedom, Operation New Dawn, and numerous other exercises. His non-flying operational tours were completed on the USS Mesa Verde (LPD-19) where he served as the Fuels Officer, Safety Officer, and Air Officer, and Mine Countermeasure Group Three where he served as the Chief Staff Officer and Operations Officer. His shore tours include a flight instructor tour with the “Fleet Angels” of HSC-2 and the “Merlins” of HSC-3 where he served as the Training Officer. CDR Corry has accumulated over 2,000 flight hours in the MH-60S Seahawk. His awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (6 awards) and various service awards and ribbons.
