A native of Springfield, Virginia, CDR Gammache enlisted in the United States Navy in September, 1999.  Upon completion of the Navy Nuclear Power Training program he attended the United States Naval Academy Preparatory School in Newport, Rhode Island and United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. He received his commissioning in 2006 and then participated in the Immediate Graduate Education Program at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.  He was designated a Naval Aviator in 2009 and completed initial training in the P-3C Orion in 2010 in Jacksonville, Florida.
His first operational tour was with the “Skinny Dragons” of Patrol Squadron FOUR (VP-4) in Kaneohe, Hawaii.  While at VP-4, he deployed to the SEVENTH and SIXTH Fleet Areas of Responsibility (AOR) participating in numerous operations, exercises and detachments including Operation TOMODACHI providing humanitarian assistance and disaster relief to the Japanese following the devastating earthquake and tsunami off Japan’s northern coast.  While assigned to the Skinny Dragons he served as Patrol Plane Commander, Mission Commander, Instructor Pilot as well as Legal Officer, Aviation Safety Officer and Pilot Training Officer.
In May 2013, CDR Gammache returned to VP-30 as an instructor pilot where he also served as Aviation Safety Officer and Quality Assurance Officer providing oversight of military and civilian maintainers, contract management and quality control for the largest squadron in naval aviation operating both the P-3C and P-8A Poseidon aircraft.  In 2014, he qualified as a Weapons and Tactics Instructor.  In January 2015, he reported to Commander, Carrier Strike Group TWO / GEORGE H. W. BUSH Carrier Strike Group in Norfolk, Virginia as Flag Lieutenant where he supported three strike group commanders over the course of the two year tour.
In January 2017, he returned to VP-30 for initial training in the P-8A Poseidon with follow on assignment to Patrol Squadron EIGHT (VP-8) in Jacksonville, Florida.  While at VP-8 he served as Safety/NATOPS Officer, Training Department Head and Operations Officer deploying twice to the SEVENTH Fleet AOR.
Most recently, CDR Gammache served as the N3 (Operations Officer) for Commander, Task Force SIX SEVEN in Sigonella, Italy where he planned and oversaw naval aviation operations in the EUCOM and AFRICOM AORs for all MPRA, and shore-based HSM and HSC platforms.
CDR Gammache holds a Bachelor’s of Science in History, Master’s of Science in Applied Science - Operations Research, and Master’s of Science in Administration - Acquisitions and Contract Management.  He is the 2019 recipient of the CAPT Tim Tibbits Award for Outstanding Leadership.
He is married to Lauren Gammache of West Chester, Pennsylvania.   Isaiah and Lauren spend their free time with their six amazing children.
