He enlisted in the United States Navy from Knoxville, TN in March 1993. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, he reported to Apprenticeship Training Division. Upon graduation, he reported for duty aboard USS AMERICA (CV 66) in Norfolk, VA and struck Aviation Boatswain’s Mate. His fleet assignments include USS AMERICA (CV 66); USS JOHN C. STENNIS (CVN 74); USS NASSAU (LHA 4); USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN 71); USS DWIGHT D EISENHOWER (CVN 69); and USS HARRY S. TRUMAN (CVN 75) culminating in 19 years of sea service and 14 operational deployments. In addition, Master Chief Stumm completed shore assignments at the Naval Waterfront Brig, Rota, Spain; United States Army Confinement Facility, Manheim, Germany; Commander, Naval Air Forces Atlantic, Norfolk, VA; and Naval Guard Battalion, Guantanamo, Cuba. Master Chief Stumm previously served as Command Master Chief with “The Blue Diamonds” of Strike Fighter Squadron ONE FOUR SIX, NAS Lemoore. He reported as Command Master Chief of Carrier Air Wing TWO (CVW-2) Lemoore, California in November of 2021. Master Chief Stumm is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 163 (Gold) and the CMC/COB Course. He holds an Associate’s Degree from Columbia College and is qualified as an Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, Surface Warfare Specialist, and Information Warfare Specialist. His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (3 awards) Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6 awards), Army Achievement Medal, and various unit and campaign awards.
