Master Chief Lavallais enlisted in the Navy on September 6, 1994, and completed basic training and airman apprentice training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. His first assignment was as an undesignated Airman with Helicopter Combat Support Squadron             Six (HC-6) homed ported in Norfolk, Virginia, where he completed three deployments to Europe and Puerto Rico.  In early 1997 as a striker, he was advanced to Aviation Storekeeper Third Class. 

His second assignment as AK3 was with Strike Fighter Squadron One Zero Six (VFA-106) in 1999. He was tasked as the lead for setting up the Squadron in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  The squadron was part of Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) relocation from Cecil Field, Florida.  While stationed at VFA-106, he was advanced to AK2.  His follow-on assignment was onboard USS HARRY S TRUMAN (CVN-75) from 2002-2006.  He was promoted to Storekeeper First Class in June 2004.  He reported to Commander Patrol and Reconnaissance Group (CPRG) in June 2006, where he was the lead expediter and logician for the P-3 community.  While stationed at CPRG, he was promoted to Chief Petty Officer in September 2008.  Chief Lavallais terminated shore duty to return to sea duty and was assigned to USS DWIGHT D EISENHOWER (CVN-69) from 2009-2013.  While onboard, he served as the production's chief for the aviation support division.  He was promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer in 2012.  Following his sea tour, he reported to the Center for Service Support (CSS) Newport Rhode Island as the Staff LCPO and a training manager responsible for updating and developing of Logistics Specialist rating curriculum.  While assigned, he qualified as a Master Training Specialist.  Upon a successful tour at CSS, he transferred to Commander, Naval Air Force Atlantic (CNAL) Fleet Training Team as the lead trainer for Aviation Supply Support.  In February 2017, he was selected for the Command Senior Chief program. While stationed at CNAL as the Acting Senior Enlisted Leader (SEL) and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for supply, and was promoted to Command Master Chief.  After being promoted to Master Chief Petty Officer, he was detailed to assume the duties as Command Master Chief of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Six, followed by serving as the Command Master Chief of Command, Helicopter Sea Combat Wing Pacific in San Diego, CA.
 
He is currently serving as the Command Master Chief of USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70).

His military decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal  (2),  Navy Commendation Medal (2), Navy Achievement Medal (3), and numerous other campaign medals and ribbons. Master Chief Lavallais is qualified to wear the Enlisted Surface Warfare and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist designations.
