USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74)

What is an Ombudsman

When a spouse or parent has a question or a problem and aren't sure where to turn, contact a Stennis ombudsman. Contact information for the ombudsman team is listed below.

Selected by the Commanding Officer, your Stennis ombudsmen are spouses of members of the Stennis crew who voluntarily serve as an official liaison between the command and its families. Trained professionals, our ombudsmen are vital resources to assist the command in discharging the Commanding Officer's responsibilities for the morale and welfare of Stennis families. The ombudsman serves as the primary link between Stennis families and the command.

As a spouse or parent of a Stennis crew member, it is important to get acquainted with our ombudsman. You are encouraged to call or email with any concerns you may have. They are on call 24 hours a day for emergencies. All non-emergency calls are taken from 10am-2pm and 6pm-8pm daily.

What is discussed between the ombudsman of the family member remains confidential. Confidentiality is a crucial element of the program in which personal information is not passed on without consent from the individual within the guidelines of the Navy family command ombudsman.
