Command Master Chief Jose M. Ramos

Command Master Chief, Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 132

23 October 2020 Master Chief Ramos, a native of California, enlisted in the United States Navy in October 1995.  Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois he attended Airman Apprenticeship Training program (ATD).
 
Upon graduation, he reported for duty with Fighter Squadron 102 (VF-102), in Virginia Beach, Virginia where he advanced to Aviation Storekeeper (AK), deploying onboard USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73) in 1998 and USS JOHN F. KENNEDY  (CVN 67) in 2000.  In May 2003, he reported to Strike Fighter Squadron 146 (VFA-146), deploying onboard USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70) in 2003 and USS JOHN C. STENNIS (CVN 74) in 2007.  In July 2010, he reported to USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72), where he completed two deployments in support of FIFTH, SIXTH and SEVENTH Fleet.  In January 2019, he reported to the World Famous Rooks of Electronic Attack Squadron ONE THREE SEVEN deploying onboard USS HARRY S. TRUMAN (CVN 75) in support of Operations RESOLUTE SUPPORT and FREEDOM’S SENTINEL.   His shore duty assignments include MCAS Miramar Aviation Supply, Strike Fighter Weapons School Pacific (SFWSPAC), Fleet Readiness Center Northwest (FRCNW) and Naval Air Weapons Station (NAWS) China Lake, as the Installation Command Master Chief.
 
Master Chief Ramos is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 198, Brown), Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course (Class 165), New Park, Rhode Island and Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) Senior Shore Leadership Course.  He is qualified as an Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist.  His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (2), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4), and numerous unit and campaign awards.
