Command Master Chief Carl S. Barnes

25 October 2020 Command Master Chief Carl Barnes, a native of Albuquerque, N.M., currently serves as Command Master Chief, Strike Fighter Squadron ONE FOUR SEVEN.  He enlisted in the Navy in January 1994 as an Aviation Electronics Technician.  He attended Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill., followed by AT “A” school in Millington, Tenn.

Barnes’ Sea duty assignments include Fleet Logistics Support Squadron FOUR ZERO (VRC 40), Norfolk, Va.; USS Enterprise (CVN 65), Norfolk, Va.; Task Group Trident, Parwan Detention Facility, Bagram, Afghanistan; Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron SEVEN ZERO (HSM 70), Jacksonville, Fla.; Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron FOURTEEN (HSC-14), San Diego, Ca.

His shore assignments include Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department (AIMD), Norfolk, Va.; AIMD Oceana, Virginia Beach, Va.; Fleet Readiness Center Detachment Mayport, Jacksonville, Fla. and Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center Puget Sound, Bremerton, Wa. 

Barnes is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy, Newport, R.I. (Class 138 Gold) and CMC/COB Capstone Course (Class 149). 
His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and various campaign and operational awards.  He is qualified as an Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist (AW) and Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (SW)
