Command Master Chief Randy Dickerson
Command Master Chief, Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 115
26 October 2020
Master Chief Dickerson joined and attended boot camp in Great Lakes, IL on 6 December 1999. He attended Aviation Electronics Technician “A” school in Pensacola, FL. His first duty station was AIMD NAS Oceana Sea-op DET. While stationed there he deployed aboard the USS KENNEDY and qualified his Air warfare and Surface warfare qualifications as an Airman.
Upon his return from deployment, he was advanced to Petty Officer 3rd class before transferring to AIMD Mayport to support Helo (SH-60B) squadrons. He would advance to 2nd class Petty Officer during his tour before accepting orders to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron-31 (MALS-31) in Beaufort, SC where he would complete two deployments on the USS ENTERPRISE and one on the USS NIMITZ as well as be meritoriously advanced to 1st class.
His next duty assignment would return him to Great Lakes, IL, but this time as a Recruit Division Commander. Shortly after arriving to Recruit Training Command he would be selected to Chief Petty Officer and deem his time as an RDC as one of the most rewarding in his career. His departure from Recruit Training Command would take him to the USS NIMITZ, ship's company, where he would be advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer.
Upon completion of his Ships company tour onboard USS NIMITZ he received orders to Kaneohe, HI where he would fill in as the Command Master Chief at Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron-24 (MALS-24). During this tour he applied to the Command Senior Chief program as was selected in 2015 and selected to Command Master Chief in 2017.
His first Command Master Chief tour would be assigned to Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 77 (HSM-77), the illustrious Saberhawks attached to Carrier Air Wing 5 (CVW-5). Operating in a Forward Deployed Naval Force (FDNF) theater would be challenging and rewarding. So much that his next set of orders would keep him in Japan and in CVW-5, where he is currently serving at Strike Fighter Squadron 115 (VFA-115) in Iwakuni.
He has an associate’s degree in Professional Aeronautics from Embry Riddle Aeronautics University and is working towards his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology through University of Maryland.
CMDCM Dickerson’s awards include; Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5) and numerous unit and campaign ribbons.
