Command Master Chief Gary Stanley

Command Master Chief, Airborne Command & Control Squadron (VAW) 115

26 October 2020 Master Chief Stanley is a native of Coeburn, Virginia and a 1993 graduate of Clintwood High School in Clintwood, Virginia. He entered the Navy through the Delayed Entry Program and arrived for basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL in November 1993.

Following Recruit Training and Aviation Electronics Technician (AT) “A” School, he reported to the “Airwolves” of HSL-40 in Mayport, FL. During this tour he was designated as a SH-60B Plane Captain and Collateral Duty Inspector. He then transferred and qualified Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative with the “Proud Warriors” of HSL-42, Mayport, FL. His follow-on sea tours include Detachment Leading Chief Petty Officer, with the “Easyriders” of HSL-37; Quality Assurance Supervisor, Maintenance Control Supervisor with the “Golden Eagles” of VP-9, and Maintenance Master Chief with the “Nightdippers” of HSC-5.

His shore tours include Production Control Leading Petty Officer, AIMD Mayport; Maintenance Officer, Senior Enlisted Leader, SFWPMU El Centro; Wing Maintenance Officer/Maintenance Master Chief, Commander Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing TWO, and Staff Senior Enlisted Leader, COMNAVAIRPAC.

Master Chief Stanley reported to his current assignment as the Command Master Chief for the “Liberty Bells” of VAW-115 in June 2019.

He is a 2011 graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 162 and CMC/COB Class 199. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (six awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards) and various other unit awards. He is authorized to wear the Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist breast insignias.
