Command Master Chief Ryan Wagner

Command Master Chief, Airborne Command & Control Squadron (VAW) 117

26 October 2020 Master Chief Wagner is a native of Loogootee, Indiana and enlisted in the United States Navy in June 1993. He completed Recruit Training and Fire Controlman, Class “A” School at Great Lakes, IL followed by SPY-1A Radar, Class “C” School at Aegis Training and Readiness Center; Dahlgren, VA.

Upon graduation, he reported for duty aboard USS LAKE CHAMPLAIN (CG-57), home ported in San Diego, CA where he served as an Aegis Radar Technician. He completed additional sea tours aboard USS LEYTE GULF (CG-55) as Combat System Maintenance Manager and USS MESA VERDE (LPD-19) as Command Master Chief. In addition, Master Chief Wagner served in shore assignments as an instructor at Aegis Training and Readiness Command; Senior Enlisted Advisor, Norfolk Ship Support Activity; Command Master Chief, Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 120 and Command Master Chief, Airborne Command & Control and Logistics Wing.

Master Chief Wagner is currently serving as the Command Master Chief at Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 117 based in Point Mugu, CA. He holds an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Technical Studies from Excelsior College. Additionally, he is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 155 and has earned his Enlisted Aviation and Surface Warfare qualifications as well as Master Training Specialist designation.

Personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
