CDR Perez is a native of Spring Valley, CA, and a graduate from Arizona State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 2001. He received his commission via Officer Candidate School in December 2001 and was designated a Naval Aviator in September 2003. He received a Masters of Arts degree from the Naval War College in 2016 and attended Joint Forces Staff College in 2017.
Following H-60F/H Fleet Replacement Pilot training with the "Warhawks" of HS-10 in San Diego, CA, CDR Perez reported to the "Eightballers" of HS-8 in June 2004. In January 2005, HS-8 joined the USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70) Strike Group ISO Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. While at HS-8, CDR Perez served as the Schedules Officer, Aircrew Division Officer, Line Division Officer, Assistant Maintenance Officer, and Unit NATOPS Instructor. His subsequent deployment with HS-8 was onboard the USS JOHN C STENNIS (CVN 74) ISO Operation IRAQI/ENDURING FREEDOM.
In August 2007, CDR Perez returned to HS-10 as an instructor pilot. He served as the Assistant Training Officer, Search and Rescue Officer, Unit NATOPS Instructor, CNAF H-60F/H NATOPS/CRM Program Manager, and Standardization Officer. While at HS-10, he was temporarily assigned to the Expeditionary Sea Combat Unit Detachment TWO (ESCU DET 2), which deployed to the South Pacific to provide rotary-wing support to the Joint Special Operations Task Force-Philippines (JSOTF-P). Upon completing FRS instructor duty, CDR Perez was recognized as HS-10’s 2010 Pilot of the Year.
In December of 2010, CDR Perez reported to the "Firehawks" of HSC-85 in San Diego, CA, in support of USSOCOM where he served as the Assistant Training Officer, Tactics Officer, and Maintenance Officer. After completing graduate education at the Naval War College in 2016, CDR Perez was assigned as the J5 Directorate Plans and Policy Chief at Special Operations Command South in Homestead, FL. His most recent assignment was as HSC-14's mighty Executive Officer.
CDR Perez decorations include Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal (Strike/Flight award), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), and various other campaign, unit, and individual awards.
CDR Perez has accumulated over 3000 flight hours.
Master Chief Bazile graduated from the Senior Enlisted Academy, Class BC 56 (Silver) in December 2014, and Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat (CMC/COB) course (Class 177) in September 2017.
