Command Master Chief Patrick McCormick

Command Master Chief, Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX) 9

29 October 2020 Born in Cottage Grove, Oregon and raised throughout the world as an Army dependent, Command Master Chief Patrick McCormick enlisted in the United States Navy in September of 1998.  Following Basic Training in Great Lakes, Illinois, he attended Seaman ATD School and reported to his first sea duty tour aboard USS Mount Hood (AE-29) as an Undersigned Sailor, later striking into the Religious Program Specialist rating aboard USS Rainier (AOE-7).

His sea/operational tours include: USS Mount Hood (AE-29), USS Rainier (AOE-7), 1st Marine Logistics Group, 1st Marine Special Operations Command Raider Battalion Detachment, 1st Marine Division, and the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit embarked aboard USS Boxer (LHD-4).

His shore assignments include: Naval Station Bremerton, Naval Base Kitsap, Naval Submarine Support Center Bangor; all three out of Washington State, and Navy Region Southwest, out of San Diego, California.

Formerly the Command Master Chief of LCS Crews 212, 224 aboard USS Omaha (LCS-12) and USS Jackson (LCS-6), he reported in December 2019 and currently serves as the Command Master Chief, Air Test and Evaluation Squadron NINE (VX-9) out China Lake, California.

Decorations include: Meritorious Service Medal, Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5 Awards), Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6 Awards), and various unit and campaign awards.

CMDCM(AW/SW/FMF/PJ) McCormick is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 199 (Purple), the United States Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Academy Class 194 (Constantine), and the CMC/COB Course Class 180. His holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Management with HONORS from American Military University and a designation of Certified Manager (CM) from James Madison University.
