Senior Chief Rawley G. Lemmel

Senior Enlisted Leader, Patrol Squadron (VP) 9

03 November 2020 Senior Chief Lemmel, a native of West Harrison, IN, enlisted in the United States Navy in August of 2002. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL he reported to AME “A” School in Pensacola, Florida.
 
Senior Lemmel’s first operational service was with Patrol Squadron FOUR ZERO on NAS Whidbey Island, WA from 2003-2007.  During that time, he completed two deployments to the 5th and 7th Fleet AORs in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.  While assigned to VP-40 he was meritoriously promoted to Petty Officer Third Class and advanced to Petty Officer Second Class. 

Senior Lemmel’s first and only shore tour was to Navy Recruiting District Seattle where he served as a Canvasser Recruiter and a Recruiter in Charge of Navy Recruiting Station Butte, Montana from 2007 - 2010. As the Recruiter in Charge he was responsible for the recruitment, growth, and development of over 55 Future Sailors as well the cultivation of the relationship of the Navy in six Montana cities. While assigned to NRD Seattle he was meritoriously promoted to First Class Petty Officer.

Senior Lemmel’s second operational tour was with Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron ONE (VQ-1).  While at VQ-1 he served as a Leading Chief Petty Officer as well served as the SEL / Safe for Flight for over 10 operational detachments in support of 5th, 6th, and 7th Fleet AORs.  Senior Lemmel promoted to Chief Petty Officer during his tour in VQ-1.
 
Senior Lemmel has been serving onboard Patrol Squadron NINE (VP-9) since 2017 where he advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer and has served as the Maintenance Control Supervisor, Maintenance Master Chief, and is now currently the Senior Enlisted Leader.

Senior Lemmel’s awards include the Naval Commendation Medal (2 Awards), Naval Achievement Medal (9 Awards) and various unit and campaign medals. He is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy and is qualified as an Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist (AW). Senior Lemmel is married to Lauren Lemmel and has three children; Amelia, Rustin, and Edwin.
