Executive Officer, Fleet Logistics Support Squadron (VRC) 30

13 December 2020 A native of Chesterland, Ohio, Commander Caldwell graduated the University of Texas in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. Following her commission through Navy ROTC, she reported to Pensacola, Florida for Aviation Preflight Indoctrination then continued on to VT-27 at NAS Corpus Christi, Texas for primary flight training in the T-34C. After primary CDR Caldwell reported to VT-22 at NAS Kingsville, Texas for intermediate jet training, where she carrier qualified in the T-45C Goshawk, onboard the USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER (CVN 69). She then reported to VT-31 at NAS Corpus Christi, Texas for advanced multi-engine training in the T-44C Pegasus where she earned her Wings of Gold in December 2006. Following her winging ceremony CDR Caldwell reported to NS Norfolk for initial fleet training in the C-2A Greyhound, where she carrier qualified in December 2007.

Commander Caldwell’s first operational assignment was with the Providers of VRC-30 where she served as Legal Officer, Assistant Operations Officer and Assistant Officer in Charge as well as earning a Wing Landing Signals Officer qualification. While on board, she deployed with Detachment FOUR in support of the USS JOHN C. STENNIS (CVN 74) and Detachment TWO in Support of the USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72), participating in Exercise NORTHERN EDGE, Operation ENDURING FREEDOM, and Operation NEW DAWN.

In April 2011, she reported to instructor duty with the Greyhawks of VAW-120 at NS, Norfolk, training the future aviators of the C-2A Greyhound. While at VAW-120, she served as Legal Officer, NATOPS Officer, and Assistant Safety Officer. Following her instructor tour, CDR Caldwell attended the Naval War College in Newport Rhode Island where she graduated with Distinction in March 2015, earning a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies.

CDR Caldwell returned to the fleet as a Department Head with the Rawhides of VRC-40 at NS Norfolk, Virginia in April 2015. During her tour she served as the Administrative Officer, Operations Officer, and Maintenance Officer and completed a very successful deployment as the Officer in Charge of Detachment FOUR in support of the USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER (CVN 69) and Operation INHERENT RESOLVE.

Following her department head tour, CDR Caldwell was assigned to Joint Task Force Civil Support in Fort Eustis, VA from November 2017 to September of 2019, where she served as Executive Assistant to two consecutive Two-Star Army Commanding Generals. CDR Caldwell then returned to VRC-30 as the Executive Officer in April of 2020.

Commander Caldwell’s personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (with two Gold Stars) and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal as well as multiple unit and service awards.
