Captain Adrian T. Calder

29 December 2020 Captain Adrian Calder attended Colby College and entered commissioned service through Officer Candidate School in 1997.  He received his wings of gold following advanced flight training in Kingsville, TX.

After initial training in the F/A-18C, Captain Calder reported to his first operational assignment with VFA-195 where he served as squadron division officer.  Following an instructor tour ashore, he served as squadron training officer with VFA-83 and VFA-25 prior to his department head tour with VFA-131.  In 2013, Captain Calder reported to the VFA-27 Royal Maces where he served as the Executive Officer and Commanding Officer.  He has completed eleven deployments aboard USS KITTY HAWK (CV 63), USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER (CVN 69), USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76), and USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73) supporting operations and exercises within CENTCOM and INDOPACOM theaters.  Captain Calder has accumulated over 4,400 flight hours and 1,200 arrested landings.

Ashore, Captain Calder’s assignments include serving as Tactics Instructor at Strike Fighter Weapons School, Atlantic; as Air Wing Training Officer at Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center; and as Senior Military Evaluator for the Director, Operational Test and Evaluation at the Office of Secretary of Defense.

Captain Calder reported to Carrier Air Wing FIVE in July of 2019.

His personal decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Strike Flight Air Medal, and various unit and campaign medals.
