Command Master Chief, Fleet Readiness Center Northwest

31 December 2020 Master Chief Crumpton, a native of Fairfield County, South Carolina, enlisted in the United States Navy on February 5, 1992. After the completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Orlando, FL he reported to Naval Training Center, Orlando, FL where he completed Airman Apprenticeship training.  

Upon graduation, he reported to his first operational command for duty as an undesignated Airman Apprentice onboard Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron FIVE (VQ-5) "Sea Shadows" in July 1992, homeported in Agana, Guam. During this tour, he completed the Aviation Machinist's Mates OJT, becoming an AD and advancing to AD3.

In July 1996, he transferred to Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department Naval Air Station North Island and served as Power Plants Division work center 41M Crew Leader.

In September 1999, he transferred to Helicopter Combat Support Squadron (HC-5) "Providers" where he conducted Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and Operation IRAQI FREEDOM missions. During this tour, he was selected to Chief Petty Officer.

He transferred to Fleet Readiness Center Northwest in September 2006. During his tenure, he served as a Branch Chief Petty Officer, Division Production Controller and Division Leading Chief Petty Officer.

In May 2010, he transferred to Electronic Attack Squadron 134 (VAQ-134), also known as the "Garudas", based at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, where he was selected to Senior Chief Petty Officer and immediately transferred to Electronic Attack Squadron 131 (VAQ-131), also known as the "Lancers" in October 2010. During his tour he served as Quality Assurance Supervisor, Maintenance Control Supervisor and Command Fitness Leader through two highly successful 5th Fleet combat deployment in support of operations NEW DAWN and ENDURING FREEDOM.

In 2013, he reported to Electronic Attack Squadron 142 (VAQ-142), also known as "The Gray Wolves". He served as Maintenance Supervisor, Avionics Armament Division Leading Chief Petty Officer, and Quality Assurance Supervisor through a highly successful Fifth Fleet combat deployments in support of operations ENDURING FREEDOM. During his tour he earned the Navy and Marine Association Leadership Award, CY 2014 and was selected to Master Chief Petty Officer.

In October 2016, Master Chief Crumpton transferred to USS JOHN C. STENNIS (CVN 74) where he served as Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department Leading Chief Petty Officer and was selected into the Command Master Chief program. 

In July 2018, he reported to Fleet Readiness Center Northwest where he currently serves as the Command Master Chief.n July 2018, he reported to Fleet Readiness Center Northwest where he currently serves as the Command Master Chief.

Master Chief Crumpton has earned his Associate in Science Degree through Excelsior College and is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 183, (Khaki).  He has qualified Enlisted Aviation Warfare and Surface Warfare Specialist designations.

His decorations include Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (Four Awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (Seven awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
