Commander Eliot A. Weston

Commanding Officer, Tactical Operations Control Squadron (TOCRON) 10

22 February 2021 CDR Eliot Weston was born and raised in Montville, Maine, and graduated from Ithaca College in 2003 with a B.A. in History.  Following Officer Candidate School, he earned his wings and was designated a Naval Flight Officer in 2005.

In 2006, CDR Weston joined the “Fighting Tigers” of Patrol Squadron EIGHT (VP-8) in Brunswick, ME.  There he served as an Instructor TACCO, NFO NATOPS Officer, and deployed four times in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.

CDR Weston next reported to the “Black Talons” of Fleet Support Unit FIVE (FSU-5) in Brunswick, ME, in 2009.  He deployed three times, and flew in support of joint operations throughout the CENTCOM and PACOM AORs.

In 2011, CDR Weston checked onboard the “Big Stick” USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) in the Newport News, Virginia, Shipyards.  There he cross-decked to the USS Carl Vinson, and qualified as a TAO while on deployment to CENTCOM and PACOM AORs.

In 2013, CDR Weston joined the “Wizards” of Special Projects Patrol Squadron TWO (VPU-2) in Kaneohe, HI, for his Pre-Department Head tour.  He deployed five times in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and Operation INHERENT RESOLVE. 
 
Following refresher training, CDR Weston reported to the “Golden Swordsmen” of Patrol Squadron FOUR SEVEN (VP-47) in 2015 for his Department Head tour.  There he served as Administrative Officer, Operations Officer, led a counter narcotics detachment to French Polynesia, and deployed to SEVENTH FLEET.

CDR Weston then joined the “Desert Sharks” of Commander, Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing FIVE SEVEN (CTF-57) in Manama, Bahrain, in 2018.  He served as the Chief of Operations, managing MPRA, VAQ, and various other platforms operating in FIFTH FLEET.

In June of 2020, he assumed command of the newly established “Kraken” of Tactical Operations Control Squadron TEN (TOCRON-10) as its very first Commanding Officer.

CDR Weston has logged more than 4,000 flight hours, primarily in the P-3C Orion.  His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal (11 strike/flight), Navy Commendation Medal (four awards), and Navy Achievement Medal (two awards).  He and his wife are the proud parents of three daughters and one son.
