Senior Chief Adam W. Barman

Command Senior Chief, Tactical Operations Control Squadron (TOCRON) 10

22 February 2021 Senior Chief Barman was born in Camden, NJ in 1984 and enlisted in the Navy on July 16, 2002.  After Basic Training he reported to Naval Air Technical Training Center Pensacola for AT "A” School and was assigned to USS JOHN F. KENNDEDY (CV-67) Mayport, FL for his first tour as an AT”I” technician.  He completed one deployment to FIFTH Fleet in support of operation Enduring Freedom and the Battle of Fallujah in 2004.  He served with CV-67 until the ship decommissioned in March of 2007. 

In July 2007, he converted to ET and reported to USS MASON (DDG-87) Norfolk, VA in September 2007 after completing AN/SPS-67 Radar “C” school.  Onboard DDG-87, he was the Combat Electronics Division RADAR/Navigation Workcenter supervisor, and deployed to FIFTH Fleet in 2008 to support Operation Iraqi Freedom and Anti-piracy operations. 

CMDCS Barman next reported to NAS Key West, FL in December of 2009 after completing AN/ASR-8 “C” School, and served as the Radar Branch Supervisor for Ground Electronic Maintenance Division. 

In June 2013 he reported to USS MESA VERDE (LPD-19) after completing AN/UPX 29 IFF “C” School.  There he served as Combat Missile Division Leading Petty Officer and after being selected to Chief in September 2015, Combat Electronics Division Leading Chief Petty Officer.  In 2014 he deployed to FIFTH Fleet in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, then deployed again for Hurricane Matthew relief in 2016, and in 2017 to SIXTH Fleet.

In 2018 CMDCS Barman received orders to TOC Whidbey Island to serve as the 3MC.  Upon selection to Senior Chief in 2019, he became the Senior Enlisted Advisor for TOCRON West, followed by the establishment of TOCRON TEN in 2020 where he was selected for Command Senior Chief in 2021and is currently serving as the Senior Enlisted Leader. 

He has qualified as Surface Warfare Specialist, Aviation Warfare Specialist, and Information Warfare Specialist.  He is a graduate of the Naval War College Primary Professional Military Education course and Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 236 Gold).  He has earned an Associate degree in Liberal Arts. His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5), and various unit and campaign awards.
