Commander Boyle is a native of San Clemente, California. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics from Loyola Marymount University and a Master of Art in Public Policy from Princeton University. CDR Boyle was designated a Naval Flight Officer in 2010.

CDR Boyle began his first operational tour with VAW-112. He completed two deployments in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and Operation NEW DAWN.

CDR Boyle’s first shore tour was at Carrier Airborne Early Warning Weapons School (CAEWWS). He completed both the Hawkeye Weapons Tactics Instructor Course and TOPGUN Controller Course. CDR Boyle was the E-2D Radar and Combat Identification Subject Matter Expert. He was selected as the Airborne Command & Control and Logistics Wing Naval Flight Officer of the Year (shore).

In 2017, CDR Boyle reported to VAW-125 in Iwakuni Japan as the Training Officer. He completed two deployments with Carrier Air Wing FIVE in the Pacific. He was recognized as the 2018 Commander, Naval Air Forces Pacific, Naval Flight Officer of the Year.

CDR Boyle reported to VAW-113 as a department head in 2019. He served as the Safety Officer, Operations Officer, and Maintenance Officer. In 2021, he reported to Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs in Princeton, New Jersey through the Fleet Scholars Education Program. In 2022, he served as the Training Systems Requirements Officer at the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Air Warfare (OPNAV N98) in the Pentagon.

CDR Boyle has accumulated more than 1,800 flight hours. His personal awards include a Strike Flight Air medal, Navy Commendation medals, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medals, and various other unit citations.
