Scott SHARE IMAGE: Download Image Image Details Photo By: MC2 Senn VIRIN: 210518-N-OR184-1002 CAPT Winston Scott graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1998, earning a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering and designated as an Aerospace Maintenance Duty Officer. He reported to VFA-37 at NAS Cecil Field serving as the Line Division Officer, Aircraft Division Officer, Legal Officer and Material Control Officer while deploying aboard USS ENTERPRISE supporting Operation DESERT FOX. In 2000, CAPT Scott was selected for training as a Student Naval Aviator and completed initial flight training at NAS Pensacola. In August of 2020, CAPT Scott was designated a Naval Aviator and reported to VFA-125 at NAS Lemoore to complete his F/A-18C training. Seagoing assignments include three tours with VFA-25, where he completed numerous deployments aboard the USS JOHN C. STENNIS, USS RONALD REAGAN, and USS HARRY S. TRUMAN in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM, and INHERENT RESOLVE. CAPT Scott has served ashore at the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center as an Air Wing Training Instructor and graduated from the U.S. Naval Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) Adversary course. He also served as the Strike Fighter Assignments Officer at Navy Personnel Command the completing a joint duty tour with the U.S. Special Operations Command. In 2017, he served as the Aviation Portfolio Manager with the Navy Officer of Legislative Affairs. And in 2019, assumed command of VFA-122. CAPT Scott accumulated over 3,000 flight hours and 500 arrested landings in 5 different aircraft. He has flown missions in support of three campaigns totaling over 80 combat sorties in Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan. His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, three Meritorious Service Medals, four Strike Flight Air Medals, three Navy Commendation Medals, and three Navy Achievement Medals as well as numerous unit commendations and awards
