Myers VIRIN: 220721-N-XX999-1001 Captain Timothy J. Myers is a native of Rockford, Illinois. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2000, earning a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering. He subsequently entered flight training and was designated a naval aviator in 2002. He also holds a Master of Arts in Government with a concentration in Security Studies from Johns Hopkins University. Operationally, he has served in numerous fighter squadrons accruing over 3,800 hours flying the F-14A, FA-18C/E/F and F-35C. His fleet assignments include Fighter/Strike Fighter Squadron (VF/VFA) 211 Checkmates, VFA-31 Tomcatters, VFA-15 Valions, command of the VFA-195 Dambusters forward deployed in Japan, and command of Carrier Air Wing TWO (CVW-2), supporting Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, New Dawn, and Western Pacific Operations on USS Enterprise (CVN65), USS Bush (CVN77), USS Reagan (CVN76), and USS Vinson (CVN70). Ashore, Myers’ assignments include duties as a TOPGUN instructor and training officer at the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center, Military Aide to the 44th President of the United States, commanding officer of both TOPGUN and STRIKE at the Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center, and as battle director at the Combined Air and Space Operations Center in Qatar. Myers’ personal decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (2 awards), Air Medal (2 strike awards), the Navy Commendation medal (4 awards), and the Navy Achievement medal, along with various campaign and service awards. Additionally, he was recognized as the Naval Air Forces Atlantic Michael G. Hoff Attack Aviator of the Year in 2012.
