CMDCM Liam is a native of San Fernando Pampanga, Philippines.  He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in April 1995 and attended recruit training at Regional Training Center, Chicago, Illinois.  After graduating from Basic Training, he reported aboard the USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) in San Diego, CA as a non-designated Airman and later rated as an Aviation Support Equipment Technician.  He completed multiple Western Pacific deployments to include Foul Eagle 98, “Operation Southern Watch” and the ship’s homeport change in Yokosuka, Japan. 

In 2000, he reported to Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) Barking Sands, Kauai Hawaii and then took following orders to AIMD Sigonella, Sicily in Italy “The Hub of The Med” providing maintenance support to transient aircrafts in support of Operation ENDURING and IRAQI FREEDOM.

In 2006, he reported to the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) in San Diego, California where he completed numerous training exercises, three deployments and was selected for Chief Petty Officer in 2007.  He then reported to AIMD Atsugi, Japan in 2010 and served as the 900 Support Equipment Division Leading Chief Petty Officer, Quality Assurance Supervisor and Quality Assurance Officer providing intermediate level aircraft maintenance support service to Naval air forces deployed to the western Pacific and in support of Operation TOMODACHI.

In 2013, CMC Liam reported onboard the USS Bon Homme Richard (LHD 6) FDNF duty in 7TH FLEET AOR homeported in Sasebo, Japan completing numerous deployments, 15 multi-national/joint exercises, POTUS support mission and humanitarian assistance.  He then received orders back to AIMD to Atsugi, Japan in 2016 where he served as the Senior Enlisted Leader and was then selected for the Command Senior Chief program in 2018.

He then took orders to Fleet Readiness Center Western Pacific (FRCWP) as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader (CSEL) and then later transferred to Iwakuni, Japan as the Command Master Chief for Electronic Attack Squadron VAQ-141 “Shadowhawks” in 2020.  He completed multiple deployments in support of operation VALIANT SHIELD/KEEN SWORD and FREEDOM’S SENTINEL.

Currently, CMC Liam is serving as the Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ 129) “Vikings” Command Master Chief located in NAS Whidbey Island, Washington.

He is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy Class 216 (Purple Group) and Command Master Chief /Chief of the Boat Class 193 in Newport, Rhode Island.  His awards include Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals along with various unit, and campaign awards.
