CMDCM Chinara Simon, a native of the Bronx, NY, enlisted in the United States Navy in
September of 2001. She completed basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes,
Illinois in November 2001 and reported to Naval Training Center, Meridian, Mississippi where
she completed Aviation Administrationman ‘A’ school.

Upon graduation she reported to her first command, Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance
Detachment (AIMD), Jacksonville, FL, where she was assigned to Production Control in
February 2002.

In 2004, she reported to Patrol Squadron 16, assigned to Maintenance Control. In 2007, she
reported to Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes IL as a Recruit Division Commander. She
succesfully trained 11 divisions.

Following her tour as an RDC she reported to Strike Fighter Squadron 195 in Atsugi Japan as the
Maintenance Control Leading Petty Officer in February 2012. She was selected for Chief Petty
Officer in September 2012.

In May 2014, CMDCM Simon reported to the USS EISENHOWER (CVN 69), homported in
Norfolk, Virginia. She served as the Production Control Leading Chief Petty Officer.

In May 2016, she reported to OPNAV, Arlington, VA. As part of the CNO staff she served as an
Air Warfare N98 Resource Officer in charge of enlisted aviation training requirements. She was
selected to Senior Chief Petty Officer in May 2019.

In September 2020, she reported to Strike Fighter Squadron 41 Lemoore, CA as the Maintenance
Control Leading Chief Petty Officer. She was selected for Command Senior Chief in February
2022.

She most recently served as the Senior Enlisted Leader of Naval Support Facility Poland and the
USS GLADIATOR (MCM 11), homeported in Manama Bahrain

She is currently serving as Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron (VQ) 4 Command Master Chief.

CMDCM Simon is a graduate of the United States Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 231
Khaki). She has earned the Enlisted Aviation Warfare, Surface Warfare and Master Training
Specialist designations. She received her associate's degree in business admin, a bachelor's
degree in education and her master's degree in public relations

Her decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Marine Corps Commendation
Medal (4 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards), Military Outstanding
Volunteer Service Medal (2 awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
