Commander Brooke H. Desrochers Commanding Officer, Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron (VQ) 4 A native of Dallas, Texas, Commander Desrochers graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2004, earning a Bachelor of Science in English. Upon receiving her commission, she reported to NAS Pensacola, FL for flight training in June 2004. She earned her Naval Flight Officer Wings at Randolph AFB, TX in October 2005, and subsequently reported to the Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron SEVEN (VQ-7) “Roughnecks” for initial training as an E-6B Airborne Communications Officer at Tinker AFB, OK. CDR Desrochers’ sea duty assignments include tours with the Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron FOUR (VQ-4) “Shadows” at Tinker AFB, OK as a junior officer, qualifying as an E-6B Airborne Communications Officer Instructor and Mission Commander Evaluator; the USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN-71) in Norfolk, VA as the Operations Administration Officer where she qualified as Officer of the Deck Underway; Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron THREE (VQ-3) “Ironmen” as the Operations Officer. CDR Desrochers’ shore assignments include Strategic Communications Wing ONE (SCW-1) Detachment Weapons Tactics Unit as a Weapons Tactics Instructor and Fleet Integration Team Lead; VQ-7 as the Naval Flight Officer Evaluator; SCW-1, Training and Readiness Officer in the N3 Department; and U.S. Strategic Command at Offutt AFB, NE as the Executive Assistant to the Director of Global Operations (J3). CDR Desrochers was selected for squadron command in March 2019 and reported to VQ-4 as Executive Officer in April 2021. CDR Desrochers has accumulated over 2,200 flight hours in the E-6B Mercury aircraft. Her awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Strike/Flight Air Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various other unit and personal awards.
