CDR Morris was designated as a Naval Flight Officer in December 2007 and qualified as a Weapons System Officer (WSO) in the FA-18F Super Hornet. CDR Morris’ operational assignments include Aircraft Division Officer in Strike Fighter Squadron TWO ONE THREE (VFA-213), Training Officer in Strike Fighter Squadron TWO (VFA-2), and Operations and Maintenance Officer in Strike Fighter Squadron ONE ZERO THREE (VFA-103). He has deployed from the East and West Coasts in support of diplomatic operations in South America and combat operations in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria. Ashore, CDR Morris served as a Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor at Air Test and Evaluation Squadron NINE (VX-9), after graduating from the Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN), and as the Training Officer of Strike Fighter Squadron ONE ZERO SIX (VFA-106). CDR Morris reported to VFA-102 as the Executive Officer in March 2022. CDR Morris has logged over 2400 flight hours and 300 carrier arrested landings, including 52 combat missions.
