Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 192 “World Famous Golden Dragons”

Mission

Maintain and deploy the F/A-18 to win in combat.

About Us

The squadron traces its roots back to 1945, just before the end of World War II, when VF-153 was established on March 26th at NAS Atlantic City.

The squadron is now at home in Lemoore and transitioned to the F/A-18E Super Hornet, beginning in July of 2013 with the arrival of Lot 23/24 Rhinos and culminating with the "Safe for Flight" certification in March of 2014.

The F/A-18E Super Hornet aircraft we fly is the world's most advanced strike fighter. Designed to operate from a carrier, the Super Hornet is fully capable in both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions.

The Super Hornet is the second major model upgrade since the inception of the F/A-18 aircraft program highly capable across the full mission spectrum: air superiority, fighter escort, reconnaissance, aerial refueling, close air support, air defense suppression and day/night precision strike.
