Master Chief Castillo was born in Brooklyn, New York and enlisted in the Navy on 17 March 1998.  She completed recruit training in Great Lakes, Illinois and reported to Strike Weapons and Tactics School, Atlantic (decommissioned) as an undesignated Airman.  She later earned her designation as a Yeoman and attended “A” School in Meridian, Mississippi.  Upon completion, Master Chief Castillo reported for duty as Administrative/Legal Clerk at Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron FOURTEEN, onboard Naval Support Activity, Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia.  She then transferred to Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), Belgium as the Administrative Assistant and Pass Liaison Representative.  Upon completion of her tour, she transferred to USS GEORGE H. W. BUSH (CVN 77), homeported in Norfolk, Virginia where she promoted to the rank of Chief Petty Officer and served as the Executive Officer -Administrative Leading Chief Petty Officer. During the tour, she was selected for an Individual Augmentee (IA) assignment, forward Deployed in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Master Chief Castillo’s next duty assignment, she was the Assistant Administrative Officer and Leading Chief Petty Officer for US Naval Station, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO, Lisbon, Portugal where she served as the Registry Supervisor and as Lead Advisor for the United States Senior Representative, Strike Fighter Squadron ELEVEN at Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia Beach, Virginia as the Admin Department Leading Chief Petty Officer where she was promoted to the rank of Senior Chief Petty  Officer.  February 2018, she was selected into the Command Senior Chief program and received orders to U.S. Coast Guard Senior Leadership Development Center, New London, Connecticut.  Master Chief Castillo transferred to USS DETROIT (LCS 7), Mayport, Florida, where she served as Command Senior Enlisted Leader.

She currently holds an Associate’s in Applied Science and Administrative/Management Studies from Excelsior College.  She is a graduate of the Air Force Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 19-A), Coast Guard Senior Enlisted Leadership Course (Class 072) and the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course (Class 19060) in Newport, Rhode Island.

Master Chief Castillo is a qualified to wear the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist devices. Her personal awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards) and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards) and various campaign and unit awards.
