Master Chief Ronnie Rojas, a native of New Orleans, LA, enlisted in the United States Navy in August 2001. After completing basic training, he completed Seamanship Apprenticeship training in Great Lakes, IL. He reported to his first assignment, USS Raven (MHC 61) forward deployed to Manama Bahrain in direct support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and earned his Enlisted Surface Specialist Warfare insignia.

In October 2003, he was selected and attended Master at Arms “A” School in Little Creek, Va. In January 2004, he reported to Naval Air Station Key West, FL where he was promoted to MA2 and was a qualified watch Commander. In February 2007 he transferred to Maritime Expeditionary Squadron 7 Det 712, forward deployed to Guam. While stationed there he was promoted to MA1, qualified as a Tactical supervisor and earned his Enlisted Expeditionary Warfare insignia. He deployed to both C7F, and C5F in support of OIF, and counter-piracy. In February 2010 he transferred to Marine Corps Security Forces Battalion, Kings Bay Ga, in support of Strategic Weapons Facilities Atlantic. While working with Marines, he earned his Nuclear weapons Security Insignia.

In July 2013, he was promoted to Chief and reported to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery, Maine, as the Police Operations Chief and supported the defueling of decommissioned nuclear submarines. In 2015 he reported to USS Vicksburg (CG 69), homeported in Mayport, Fl as the ship’s Chief Master At Arms. Following the Deactivation of the Cruiser, he reported to the Precom unit and later commissioned the USS Portland (LPD 27). Homported in San Diego, he participated in RIMPAC 2017, and the laser Weapons System testing.

In June 2021, he reported to Assault Craft Unit ONE, homeported in Coronado, Ca and promoted to Senior Chief. In March 2022 he was redistributed to USNS Mercy MTF Augment and deployed in support of Pacific Partnership 2022 with Commander, Amphibious Squadron THREE. While attached to MERCY, Senior Chief Rojas was selected for the Command Senior Enlisted Leader program and reported to the Pre Com Unit John L. Canley (ESB 6) GOLD crew in May 2023, commissioned the ship in February 2024 and was promoted to Command Master Chief. CMC Rojas is currently the CMDCM for VFA 2.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Excelsior College. He graduated from the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 258 Purple) and Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat course (Class 23080). His decorations include the Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), and various unit, campaign and service awards.
