Naval Aviation Enterprise “One Vision, One Team”

Reliability Control Team

The Reliability Control Team (RCT) supports Naval Aviation and the NAE by applying a data-driven process designed to identify the root cause(s) for decreased reliability, prioritize the investment in reliability improvements that improve weapon system readiness, execute these initiatives with precision and urgency, and measure the effectiveness of improvements.

The RCT provides a mechanism to align Naval Aviation business processes and drive accountability for actions to improve Fleet readiness. The RCT prioritizes, manages, coordinates and executes the Reliability Control Board (RCB) process and impacts these processes by linking decision-makers horizontally at the type/model/series (TMS) triad, staff and command levels so problems can be solved cross-functionally, resulting in the achievement of readiness goals. The processes implemented by the RCT seek to attain and sustain near and long-term Naval Aviation readiness goals at an affordable cost.

RCT members conduct data analytics, address critical gaps and facilitate collaboration between warfighters and their supporting logistics infrastructure. The team provides coordinated support for legacy aircraft and weapons systems throughout their life cycle by setting enterprise policy and managing end-to-end NAE engineering, maintenance and replenishment processes. This includes identification of cross-TMS systemic issues, multi-TMS degraders, resolution of complex problems and sustainable solutions supported by data.

The RCT is co-led by Naval Air Systems Command Chief Engineer and Commander, and Naval Air Force Atlantic. RCT membership also includes Flag Officer-level, Senior Executive Service, various senior leaders and action officers across the NAE directly involved in readiness decisions.
