He is a graduate from the United States Naval Academy, where he received both a Bachelor of Science in History and his commission in 2005. In 2007, CDR Clark was designated as a Naval Aviator and reported to HELSEACOMBATRON THREE (HSC-3) in San Diego for initial training in the MH-60S Knighthawk. From 2008 until 2011, CDR Clark completed an operational tour with the “Wildcards” of HELSEACOMBATRON TWO THREE (HSC-23) at NAS North Island in San Diego, where he served as Education Services Officer, Detachment Division Officer, Detachment Assistant Officer in Charge, as well as the squadron’s Assistant Operations Officer. While at HSC-23, CDR Clark deployed on a WESTPAC aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) in 2009, supporting anti-piracy operations with CTF 51. CDR Clark also deployed on the USNS Mercy (T-AH19) in support of Pacific Partnership 2010, conducting countless HADR operations and exercises in the 7th Fleet AOR while gaining extensive knowledge of the region. Clark received the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for a MEDEVAC flight he led in Cambodia during that deployment. In 2011, CDR Clark reported to HELSEACOMBATRON TWO (HSC-2) at NS Norfolk for primary duty as an Instructor Pilot at the Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS). While there, his ground jobs included Auxiliary Retail Outlet Division Officer, Curriculum Officer, and the Quality Assurance Officer who was responsible for overseeing maintenance operations on over 30 MH-60S helicopters. As a member of HSC-2, he deployed onboard USS San Antonio (LPD 17) in support of DSCA operations in New York and New Jersey in the wake of Superstorm Sandy. Following HSC-2, CDR Clark went on to study at the Naval Postgraduate School in 2015, where he graduated with a Masters of Business Administration with a Financial Management focus, as well as completing Joint Professional Military Education Phase 1. Upon completion of his degree, CDR Clark spent a year as the Air Operations Officer aboard NAVSUPPFAC Diego Garcia from March 2016 to March 2017, supporting Joint and Multi-National Operations in both 5th and 7th Fleet AORs. In 2017, CDR Clark reported to the “Doerbirds” of TRARON TWO (VT-2) for his Department Head tour, serving as the Administration Officer, Student Control Officer, and the Operations Officer. CDR Clark also served as the TRAWING FIVE (CTW-5) Assistant Operations Officer in 2020 prior to transitioning to Full-Time Support (FTS). June 2020, CDR Clark reported to TRAWING 6 (CTW-6) as the Flight Instructor Training Unit (FITU) Officer in Charge, responsible for the initial and upgrade training of all T-6A pilots attached to CTW-6. Currently, he is serving as the Executive Officer of Navy Air Logistics Office in New Orleans, Louisiana. CDR Clark has logged over 3,350 flight hours in various helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, various campaign and service medals and two Battle “E” awards for squadron excellence.
