A native of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Commander Frankhouser graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2008, earning a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. She also holds a Master of Science in Operations Management from the University of Arkansas. Upon receiving her commission, she reported to flight training in November 2008 and earned her “Wings of Gold” in October 2010.

In January 2011, CDR Frankhouser reported to VP-30 “Pro’s Nest” for initial fleet training as a P-3 replacement pilot. CDR Frankhouser began her operational flying in October 2011 with the “Grey Knights” of VP-46. As a Grey Knight, she qualified as a Pilot Instructor and Mission Commander while completing 2 deployments in support of FIFTH and SEVENTH Fleet Combatant Commanders. While at VP-46 she served as the Pilot NATOPS Officer, Pilot Training Officer and Command Security Manager.

CDR Frankhouser reported back to the VP-30 “Pro’s Nest” in November of 2014 as an Instructor Pilot. During her tour she served as P-3 Pilot Standardization Officer, P-3 Fleet Instructor Under Training Lead, P-3 Schedules Officer and qualified as a Weapons and Tactics Instructor while training and mentoring young student Officers. During this tour she was selected as the 2017  VP-30 “Man in the Arena”.

CDR Frankhouser then reported to USS NIMITZ in 2017 and served as the Assistant Navigator where she qualified as Officer of the Deck (Underway) and supported a SEVENTH Fleet Deployment. CDR Frankhouser returned to the fleet as a VQ-1 Department Head for the “World Watchers” in 2019. While with the World Watchers, she completed two deployments in support of the SEVENTH and SIXTH Fleet Combatant Commanders and served as the Maintenance Officer and Training Officer.

Following her department head tour, CDR Frankhouser served as the VQ and VP Sea Assignments Officer at Naval Personnel Command in Millington, TN. In April of 2024, CDR Frankhouser reported to the VP-4 “Skinny Dragons” as Executive Officer.

CDR Frankhouser has accumulated over 2,000 flight hours in the P-3C, EP-3E, and P-8A. Her awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (5 awards), and Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2 awards) and various service awards and ribbons.

She is most proud of the numerous unit awards that reflect credit on the teams she served with and the skilled professionals she was privileged to serve alongside.
